Introduction
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Share2Care app and related services.
The Share2Care app is delivered and managed by Care Networx Ltd on behalf of NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board.
By downloading, accessing, registering for, or using the Share2Care app, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use.
The app may appear in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store as “Share2Care – WYICB”.
If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use the Share2Care app.
About the Share2Care App
The Share2Care app is designed to support unpaid carers, patients, and families by enabling users to:
- Create and manage a Circle of Care
- Invite other carers and trusted individuals to collaborate
- Upload and manage care-related documents and information
- Use shared calendars and activity features
- Build and share digital contingency plans
- Receive reminders and notifications
- Support communication and coordination across care networks
The Share2Care app is intended to support care coordination and information sharing and is not a replacement for emergency services, medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical decision-making.
Eligibility and Account Responsibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or have appropriate supervision or authority, to use the Share2Care app.
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login details
- Ensuring your account is used lawfully and appropriately
- Promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation
You must not allow unauthorised individuals to access your account.
Consent and Third-Party Information
By using the Share2Care app, you confirm that:
- You have obtained appropriate consent from any third-party individuals whose personal information you add to the app, including within the Circle of Care, uploaded documents, communications, or digital contingency plans; or
- You are acting in the best interests of an individual who lacks the mental capacity to provide consent themselves, in accordance with applicable legal and safeguarding responsibilities.
You are responsible for ensuring that any information uploaded or shared through the Share2Care app is lawful, accurate, and appropriate to share.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app unlawfully or fraudulently
- Upload false, misleading, offensive, or harmful content
- Upload malicious software or attempt to compromise system security
- Access accounts, information, or systems without authorisation
- Use the app in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the service
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Share confidential information without appropriate authority
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access where misuse, unlawful activity, safeguarding concerns, or breaches of these terms are identified.
Health and Care Information
The Share2Care app may allow users to upload and manage health and care-related information.
Users remain responsible for ensuring that information entered into the app is:
- Accurate
- Up to date
- Appropriate to share
- Maintained in accordance with applicable laws and responsibilities
The app supports care coordination but does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of information shared by users or third parties.
Contingency Plans and Shared Information
Users may create and share contingency plans and care-related information with members of their Circle of Care and, where applicable, authorised health and care services.
You are responsible for deciding what information you choose to share and with whom.
Share2Care does not guarantee that shared information will be reviewed, acted upon, or monitored in real time by health or care organisations.
Notifications and Communications
The app may send notifications, reminders, and updates relating to care coordination, app activity, or service information.
While we aim to provide reliable notifications, delivery cannot be guaranteed at all times due to factors outside our control, including device settings, connectivity, or third-party platform availability.
Users are responsible for ensuring notifications are appropriately configured on their devices.
AI-Assisted Features
The Share2Care app may include AI-assisted functionality designed to help users navigate services, organise information, or access guidance more efficiently.
AI-generated content is provided for informational and support purposes only and should not be relied upon as medical, legal, safeguarding, or emergency advice.
Users should seek appropriate professional support where necessary.
Service Availability
We aim to ensure the Share2Care app is available and functioning effectively at all times. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
Access may occasionally be restricted due to:
- Maintenance
- System updates
- Security requirements
- Technical issues
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service where necessary.
Data Protection and Privacy
Personal information is processed in accordance with the Share2Care Privacy Notice.
By using the app, you acknowledge that your information may be processed as described within the Privacy Notice.
Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights relating to the Share2Care app, including software, branding, design, logos, text, and functionality, remain the property of Care Networx Ltd or its licensors unless otherwise stated.
You may not:
- Copy
- Modify
- Reverse engineer
- Distribute
- Reproduce
- Commercially exploit
any part of the Share2Care app without prior written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Share2Care app is provided on an “as available” basis
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or complete accuracy of all information
- Care Networx Ltd and NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the app
Nothing within these terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence.
Safeguarding and Emergencies
The Share2Care app is not monitored as an emergency service.
Users must not rely on the app for urgent medical, safeguarding, or emergency situations.
In an emergency:
- Call 999
- Contact NHS 111
- Contact appropriate emergency or safeguarding services
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in legislation, service delivery, or app functionality.
The latest version will always be available within the Share2Care app and via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store listing for “Share2Care – WYICB”.
Continued use of the app following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Information about accessibility support and accessibility features is available within the Share2Care Accessibility Statement.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes relating to the use of the Share2Care app will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
